Agnes Chavez

Interdisciplinary artist and educator. Her work focuses on data visualization, light, sound and space as a tool to address ecological and humanitarian challenges. In 2009 she created the "STEMarts Lab" a non profit organization based in Taos New Mexico. STEMarts designs immersive and educational STEAM programs that develop artistic, scientific and humanistic literacy to empower youth to become informed and creative participants in their local/ global communities. She is a founding member of "The PASEO Festival", an outdoor participatory art festival in Taos, New Mexico started in 2014 with a mission to transform community through art and art through community. She is also the founder of "SUBE", a multi-sensory language learning curriculum to teach children Spanish and English through art, music and games.
