Excessive carbon dioxide emissions are considered to be the main cause of the Greenhouse Effect. If we can measure the amount of atmospheric carbon dioxide in different countries and regions, will we be able to propose ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions? The answer is yes, but the question is how. The successful launch of the first CO2 monitoring satellite in 2009 named GOSAT marked a major step forward in the management of CO2 emissions. China also successfully launched a CO2 satellite in 2016, following the launch of the second global CO2 monitoring satellite by NASA. In this speech, Yonghe Zhang, a member of the team that created China's first CO2 monitoring satellites, will show how a carbon satellite works. He will also introduce China's efforts in global carbon dioxide control.
